Predivan Svijet - Beautiful World

Do you remember the World Cup 1998. in France? As it was yesterday, but it has been 18 years since then. I was still a child, but the game of Croatian national football team has been really impressive. Many remember these days and impressive goals by Davor Suker. He was the top scorer of the championship. Beautiful games have cemented this team as a favorite in the hearts of many fans, but with good reason, each of these players were in top form. They were a great team, with impressive individuals, and when you are in such position you must have success, specially if you play with players like Davor Suker and Zvonimir Boban. They won third place at the World Cup. Where is Croatia today? In all these years Croatia has always achieved outstanding results, because they are almost always within 10-20 best teams of the world.

Honestly, it is only time when they will be in position to win something again, to become best of the best, specially when you consider who is now in Croatian national team. When your country has phenomenal players like Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona), Mario Mandzukic (Juventus), Ivan Perisic (Inter Milan), Mateo Kovacic (Real Madrid) and many more impressive players (all play in great clubs), you must be happy.

Luka Modric is one of the most important players in Real Madrid, and fans love him. He has some rewards from past, but this year is brilliant for him. He received several rewards as best midfielder in the world for this year, and it is more than clear, he can become one of the best midfielders of all time. When he is not on the court, team does not play same. Why is that so? You should see some of his skills on Youtube, and you will understand very fast.

Ivan Rakitic is brilliant player, he has technique and impressive control over ball. He is important player in Barcelona, same as for national football team. With him in the middle, Croatian football team looks even more impressive.

Mario Mandzukic has very strong competition in Juventus right now, but he is brilliant striker, he can score with head or leg, even with body if needed (check goal against Northern Ireland), for him that is easy. He is really hardworking player.

Ivan Perisic, well that is impressive player, his progress in last two years is insane. He had great shape before World Cup in Brasil, and after that world could see many goals in same style. People know what he will do, but it is almost impossible to block him. He is fast, he has great technique, and if he can, he will try to score, mostly with success.

Mateo Kovacic is very young and very big potential. He had hard year after him, but this year is his. Great speed and technique are his big plus, he is capable to throw out a whole defence line and score.

We have to be honest, this generation has impressive strenght, and when you look individually, there is 20 players with impressive skills who play in great clubs. On paper Croatia can attack any other team with any lineup, what is impressive for so small country.

Can they repeat the success of 1998? I am sure they definitely can, but for success you need skills and luck together. So far that was problem. If you follow the Croatian football team then you know how they play. Mostly, that is technically strong football with desire to score, what is very easy when you look at the current team.
